These eight panels decorate the Danna-no-ma room and are among the 50 sliding panels of the abbot's chambers of Kenninji Temple painted by Kaiho Yusho, who was involved in a revival of Kenninji Temple in the early modern era. Among the eight panels, the four panels on the north side comprise this work. These four panels depict scenes of pavilions, water, and a waterfall. These four panels, titled "Landscapes," feature clearly depicted details and differ from "Dragon and Clouds" (in the Rei-no-ma room), "Flowers and Birds" (in the Shoin-no-ma room), and "Four Accomplishments" (in the Ihatsu-no-ma room). They are unlike the depictions of people dressed in the billowing garments, as seen in the inner room, and can be viewed in every room of the large abbot's chamber of Kenninji Temple. Accents of dark ink have been added to pale ink, a technique believed to have been taught by Gyokukan. This style of painting has been sublimated into the Yusho style, as evidenced by the effectiveness of the very broad empty space.
