City of Kyoto which has 1,200-year history has served as a central role for the creation of the history and culture of Japan. Its vast amounts of information have been passed down the generations as cultural heritages and have importantly been preserved. Digital archive is the technology which passes the information down the generations losslessly by using the latest information technology and enables the information to be reproduced or restored anytime as well. Our foundation also supports a new "Kyoto Brand" which is born from transmission of the information toward the world by digitalizing heritages of Kyoto both inherited and accumulated since ancient times, and stimulation of traditional industries in this historic Kyoto city. As a part of the promotion in various fields, we offer the lending service of digital data in compliance with the usage and the purpose. Anyone who would like to use them, please apply for a license.

This is the world largest scanner which has the 7300 pixels reading system with "1 line color CCD". It can digitize smaller than 1.95m long and 92cm wide objects. When it reads objects at 420 dpi resolution, the result comes out with 430 million pixels. In addition, it reads object with 420 dpi at high-speed 340 seconds and proves high operating efficiency.

Canon Eos-1D Mark II

Features

This is a digital camera with a large-scale sensor of 28.7mm X 19.1mm and effective pixels of 8.2 million pixels. It can use a pantoscope from the far distance as well as the above mentioned Eos-1Ds, and Eos-1D Mark II takes about 8.5 frames per second. It boasts the world maximum speed specification of this kind at the moment and is suitable for objects which need continuous shooting.
